Spanish cuisine is increasingly popular in the UK, with Tapas style restaurants featuring in most towns and virtually every city. It is a varied cuisine with influences from Moorish and Jewish cultures, neighbouring Mediterranean areas and of course seafood from the waters that surround Spain. Native foods of the Americas also play a part with Spain being where the likes of potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and beans were first introduced to European cooking.

One major ingredient is olive oil which reflects the fact that Spain produces over 40% of the world's olives.
